Katrien 1.50m (suar wood)

The Katrien is different. Where the Baron and the Babette work with a straight post and staggered platforms, the Katrien takes a different approach — a twisting, spiralling post around which the five platforms wind upwards like a spiral staircase. The result is a scratching post that looks different from every angle, and that gives your cat a climbing route like no other.

That spiral layout is not just beautiful — it is also ergonomically considered. Each platform sits at a different position along the axis of the post, allowing your cat to move upwards in a natural way. Turning, stretching, climbing — the Katrien follows the movement of the cat rather than forcing the cat to adapt to the post.

Five platforms of 35 x 40cm — large enough to rest fully stretched out. At 150cm the Katrien offers enough levels for both the relaxed sleeping cat and the active climber.

The Katrien is made from solid suar wood, hand-selected and finished in our workshop in Westerlo. The twisted post is not a construction of assembled parts — it is one piece of wood that brought its own character. Suar is heavy and dense, the wide base keeps everything stable even when your cat takes the spiral at full speed.

Every Katrien is unique. The wood grain follows the twist of the post in a way you can never fully predict. That is exactly what makes a piece of solid wood so special.

Configure the Katrien entirely to your preferences: hemp rope, a cushion, a donut bed or a teak bowl. Everything is separately selectable.
